Job Description

Job Purpose:

As part of the new finance organisation and Vivo Energy Mauritius focus on profitable growth, the MI amp; Planning analyst position in the Operating Unit (OU) is a critical role that will support the FM and Country Leadership Team in managing OU performance and designing and driving delivery the plan.

This position is aimed to be accountable for analyzing, understanding, and supporting the OU Country Leadership Team to maximize the business performance.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Ensure that the different monthly/quarterly reports are completed as per group deadline. Analyze the financial performance (including but not limited to the segmented income statement, balance sheet and cash flow) of the OU on a monthly basis and coordinate in country performance reviews. Provide and explain actual performance versus the plan of the year.
  • Capex management/coordination: Ensure that Post Investment Reviews, Capex tracking and monthly reporting, capex monitoring and control are performed as required. Investment Proposals (IPs) prepared by the relevant business teams must be reviewed to ensure that they are aligned to the Capex plan.
  • Cost management: Track and analyze cost drivers and explain variances on local expenses by cost centers and cost bucket on a monthly basis by comparing actual performance versus the plan and the prior year. Ensure that all required accruals have been booked in the ERP before the closing of the General Ledger with the support of the Finance Controller.
  • Annual plan/ Quarterly forecasts: Lead the OU planning process by coordinating and preparing the annual plan (5-year plan) and quarterly forecasts as per the group deadlines. Consolidate and reconcile the operational plan and quarterly forecasts and ensure it is correctly captured in the different systems.
  • Margin Analysis and volume reporting: Review and analyze volume performance (by tracking changes in market share) against plan and prior year on a monthly basis. Analyze gross margin by segment in detail to allow a better understanding of the financial performance of the OU.
  • Integrated Business Planning: Coordinate the IBP process with the support of the Business to ensure the alignment of the Sales and Operations Planning process with the Supply Chain planning.
  • Flash Report: Prepare weekly forecasts to help the business and the Country Leadership Team to manage and gear the performance of the OU.
  • MI: Act as custodian of MI architecture and manuals in the OU [HPL, HFM and SAC super user]
  • Projects: Provide any required support to improve performance of the different reporting tools/systems by collaborating closely with the central team on different projects / initiatives as and when required.
  • Other Reports: Provide any requested ad hoc analysis by product, segment, channel etc. resulting in meaningful Management Information to help to deliver the plan, steer the business and appraise actual performance against plan

Requirements

Qualifications, Job Knowledge, Skills amp; Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.
  • A minimum of 2-3 year of working experience, preferably in a finance role.
  • Basic understanding of the Oil Industry
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Self-starter: Able to drive change and run projects.
  • Effective inter-personal skills to work with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage priorities and tight deadlines.
